CDR copy FW-ASCH-5RR-0763 is primarily an interview in which Moses Asch interviews a Native American woman of the Shinnecock tribe on Long Island, New York - a tribe of some 600 members and the only one of the 13 tribes originally on Long Island. Also, there is a brief instructional session in which the same lady teaches some children about the history of the tribe, e.g., how the tribe taught early European settlers about offshore whaling (pordor) which the Europeans then further developed. That is followed by a brief interview of a small child by Moses Asch. Probably recorded on Aug. 26, 1957 - date shown on the back of -0764 (see below).
