General

Enoch Lincoln (1788-1829) served as governor of Maine from 1827 until his death. He was buried in what is now Capitol Park in Augusta and a monumental tomb was erected in 1842. At some point, however, his remains disappeared. The town of Lincoln, Maine, is named for him.
