Delia West Marble was born in 1868 in New York. She organized the first unit of the Women's Land Army of American in Bedford, New York along with Ida Helen Ogilvie, her partner. Marble was a member of the Bedford Garden Club, a chairman of the Wildflower Preservation Committee within The Garden Club of America, and a curator of Geology at Barnard College.
