General
The Worthington Family hired Benjamin Latrobe to design their house and grounds in 1803. The gardens were positioned on the east side of the house. The formal gardens were displayed on terraces. Stone terraced walls reflected the stone façade of the house. Persons associated with the garden include Thomas Worthington (former owner 1797) and Benjamin Labtrobe (house and grounds designer 1806-1807).
