General
Little is known about this garden. Like the Patten (MA333000) and Sheldon (MA334000) gardens, this garden was apparently in Boston, Massachusetts (according to a notation on the plastic sleeve enclosing the transparency). Also like those gardens, the spacious, wooded site depicted in the images does not seem typical of an urban location. Similar also to the Sheldon Garden is the Merry Garden's emphasis on daylilies. Variety was provided by a range of other trees, shrubs, and perennials. The date 1970 was written by Molly Adams on the plastic sleeve enclosing the transparency and may well be the year in which she also photographed the Patten and Sheldon gardens, perhaps on the same trip.
