General

The images associated with this garden document what appears to be a newly installed flagstone patio and walkways for a suburban residential site. Expansive lawns and shrubs served as framers and accents. It is possible that the design was by Alice Recknagel Ireys; the name "Alice" is written across two of the images. The same or similar images have not been found in Ireys' book, "How to Plan & Plant Your Own Property," (for which Molly Adams did much of the photography); further research in Ireys's papers at Smith College may result in a positive identification. At this time the exact location of the property is not known.
