General
This was one of two gardens belonging to Robert Edward and Ethel Halsey Blum that were photographed by Molly Adams (the other is NY969). Landscape architect Alice Recknagel Ireys played a major role in the garden's design over the years. A distinctive wisteria pergola complemented the Dutch Colonial style house, providing an elevated viewing platform over the rest of the garden. Extensive annual and perennial borders, substantial stone hardscaping, and a variety of specimen trees and shrubs completed the site.
