Scope and Contents note
Printed matter produced by the Downtown Gallery (1 linear foot) includes exhibition catalogs, checklists, invitations and announcements, press releases, invitations to events other than exhibition openings, and booklets about Downtown Gallery artists. Neither of the two published monographs of a projected ten-volume series by Holger Cahill, ( "Pop" Hart and Max Weber, planned by the Downtown Gallery, is included among the records.
The first two volumes of scrapbooks of printed matter include exhibition catalogs, checklists, invitations and announcements, stationery for particular exhibitions, brief reviews, press releases, and a small number of advertisements for the gallery. The third volume contains printed matter relating to the American Print Makers Society exhibitions at Downtown Gallery.
Miscellaneous items include invitations to events other than exhibition openings, and brochures of general information about the Downtown Gallery and the artists it represented
