Ontario Lakers Neighborhood Stadium

The Ontario Lakers Youth Organization, founded by Walter Pierce and his brother Ronald Pierce in 1964, wrested control of a vacant lot in Adams Morgan that they turned into a public park where they developed youth-centered community improvement efforts including sports teams and a community garden. It has since been renamed Walter Pierce Park, in
honor of its late founder. (1974)
