Former Secretary Clough

The National Portrait Gallery exhibition, “Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture,” has generated its share of controversy. Some have called for the removal of the entire exhibition because they object to its content, while others have objected to the decision to remove a video from the exhibition by the artist David Wojnarowicz.

El Secretario Wayne Clough ha anunciado hoy que se retirará de su cargo en el Smithsonian en octubre del 2014, después de haber servido más de seis años al frente de la Institución. Clough se unió al Smithsonian en julio del 2008 para remplazar al Secretario interino Cristián Samper. Antes de llegar al Smithsonian, Clough fue presidente del Georgia Institute of Technology durante 14 años.
