The Arax Armenian Dance Ensemble of Greater Washington performing on Jan. 18, 2009 at the “Out of Many: A Multicultural Festival of Music, Dance, and Story” program at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian's Rasmuson Theater
 in Washington, D.C. The group is named after the Arax River in Armenia and performs unique line and circle dances, graceful women’s improvisations featuring delicate arm and hand movements and energetic men’s dances to modal music with unusual rhythms.
