In this multimedia installation, photographer and artist Will Wilson (Navajo) creates an imagined environment to show what the Navajos' relationship to the land might be like in the distant future. The installation includes several large-scale photographs of a post-apocalyptic voyager traveling within a barren landscape along with comforting cultural symbols—such as a hogan (a traditional Navajo dwelling)—coexisting with computers, wires, and futuristic furnishings.
Organized by the Heard Museum, Phoenix, Arizona, and curated by Joe Baker (Delaware). The museum's installation was organized by curator Kathleen Ash-Milby (Navajo).
