This small commemorative exhibition traces Grant's rise to world-wide fame as a Civil War general and President of the U.S. His life is examined through portraits, photographs, prints, and a selection of personal memorabilia. Also included are portraits of his contemporaries Robert E. Lee, Philip Sheridan, Wm. T. Sherman, and Mark Twain.
Marking the centennial of Grant's death, the exhibition is jointly organized with the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, Austin, Texas.
