Thirteen students of James Gillespie Birney Elementary School in southeast Washington, D.C., document the Anacostia community and nearby neighborhoods in a photographic exhibition that includes everyday scenes, special events, residents, and places of interest. The exhibition includes 26 digital photographs and written comments from the student participants.

The exhibition marks the collaboration between the Birney Elementary School, the school's 2005 Photojournalism Camp, and the Anacostia Museum.
