Visit a selection of 80 works created by Carolyn Bartlett Gast, an illustrator in the NMNH Dept. of Invertebrate Zoology. Many of the subjects can be seen only under a microscope. Illustrations on view range from fossils and fish to insects and invertebrates. Elements of medieval illumination—fine pen work and raised gold embellishments—are evident in her work.
