Diagnostic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the body's internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. The exhibition focuses on some of the pioneers of that technology as well as early clinical applications and current uses of ultrasound in medicine. Included in the display are photographs of early and modern scans and some of the earliest equipment used in diagnostic ultrasound.
