"The Rocket" Tourmaline Crystal
December 1, 1980 – January 30, 1995
On public display for the first time is a multimillion dollar rubellite tourmaline. The 55-pound rocket-shaped crystal, discovered in Minas Gerais, Brazil, is on indefinite loan. Its red-wine color and clarity are remarkable, and it is believed to contain 50,000 carats of fine gem rubellite.
