On view are 19th-century artifacts, restored and unrestored, from the NMNH Department of Anthropology's U.S. National Collection from the Philippines. Featured are hats, a basket, a beaded bag, a rain jacket, two oil paintings depicting dances, a shield, and a handwritten edition of the Qur'an, the Islamic religious text.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Philippine Fund, which supports acquisition, conservation, restoration, and exhibition of Philippine collections and research on Philippine culture.
