On view are 8 pieces selected from the recently acquired collection of ancient Chinese ceramics. Included are those that are among the rarest in the collection—a footed jar of black clay from the Shang dynasty (c. 1523-1028 B.C.) and a funerary jar with 4 attached jarlets from the Eastern Han dynasty (25 B.C.-A.D. 220).
