On view are approximately 55 works of art—prints and drawings, sculpture and paintings—in a selection of portraits of influential Americans acquired for the permanent collection during the past year. Included are likenesses of Fanny Brice by William Sharp; Barry Goldwater by John Court; Peggy Guggenheim by Man Ray; Georgia O'Keeffe by Paul Strand; John F. Kennedy, Diane Arbus, and Marilyn Monroe by Garry Winogrand; Chuck Yeager, Jonas Salk, and Berry Gordy, Jr., by Peter Strongwater; and self-portraits by John Marin, Robert Henri, and George Bellows.
