This exhibition is the first in North America to examine the influential role of recent British sculpture in international art. Six artists are represented: Richard Long, Barry Flanagan, and David Nash, who emerged in the 1970s with the Conceptual and Earth Art movements; and Tony Cragg, Richard Deacon, and Bill Woodrow, who emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s, as a re-emphasis on image occurred in British sculpture.
Organized by the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
