Trace the development and demise of the Confederate postal service. Items on view include envelopes and stamps from soldiers' mail, prisoner-of-war mail, and blockade-run mail. Also on view is the first philatelic contribution to the Smithsonian, in 1886: a pane of 10-cent Confederate stamps.
