On view are 213 pieces ranging from simple stone amulets of the ancient Near East to the elaborate 20th-century creations of Lalique and Tiffany in an exhibition that begins its national tour at the Cooper-Hewitt. Included are works from Egyptian, Etruscan, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine sites, those of the Migration and Medieval periods, and works that document major styles from the Renaissance to the beginning of the 20th century.
This is a traveling exhibition organized by The Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore, and the American Federation of Arts.
