More than 200 works are on view to chart the stylistic design history of modern American production silver from 1925 to 2000 and to reintroduce designers working at the time. Featured designers include Eliel Saarinen, Erik Magnussen, Robert Venturi, Michael Graves, Elsa Peretti, and Richard Meier. The exhibition also explores economic and cultural factors that influenced design, manufacture, and marketing across more than seven decades.
The exhibition is divided into the following thematic areas:
