On view are 66 works selected from the 127 paintings, sculptures and works on paper given to NMAA by David Anderson in honor of his mother, Martha Jackson, founder of the New York Gallery bearing her name, who was best-known for encouraging abstract expressionist artists. Included are figurative works by Grace Hartigan, John Hultberg, Lester Johnson and Bob Thompson; abstract expressionist works by Norman Bluhm, Sam Francis, Louise Nevelson, and John Mitchell; Pop art by Jim Dine and Alex Katz; and Op art by Julian Stanczak.
