Little Pictures, Big Lives: Snapshots from the Smithsonian's Archives of American Art

Some 150 images of celebrated and famous artists offer clues to the intimate side of public personae: to the people and the things they cared about, where they’ve been, what they did, and with whom. The images were taken primarily during the golden age of snapshot photography, the 1920s through the 1960s.
