On view is the Michelob Lite Eagle. The plane is a prototype for Project Daedalus, in which the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) plans the flight of a human-powered aircraft from the island of Crete to the mainland of Greece.
In January, this prototype flew more than 30 miles at Edwards Air Force Base in California, setting a new world record for human-powered flight. The earliest possible flight date for the Crete-to-Greece flight is spring 1988.
