An 1804 silver dollar and an 1804 gold eagle (a $10 denomination), two rarities among many, are in this set of nine U.S. coins on loan from a private collector. The coins and their case were presented as an official gift of the U.S. to the King of Siam in 1836, marking the beginning of U.S.-Thai trade relations.
