The life and work of Frazee (1790-1852), the first native-born American to carve a successful portrait in marble, and the first to receive federal patronage, is examined through the exhibition of all his major sculpted portraits. Also included are works by his contemporaries, and prints and drawings recalling his work as an architect during his later years.

Co-organized with the Boston Athenaeum (Oct. 1-Dec. 18, 1986).
