Nearly 300 paintings, watercolors, pastels, drawings, and prints by James McNeill Whistler on view as part of the observance of the 150th anniversary of Whistler's birth. The works are selected from the Freer's Whistler collection, the largest in the U.S. and one of only two major collections in the world. The exhibit occupies the entire south portion of the museum, including the Peacock Room, Whistler's only surviving architectural decorative scheme.
