The Inedible Renwick Birthday Cakes

To commemorate the Renwick's 10th anniversary, the exhibition presents the icon of all birthdays—the cake—executed in stuffed fabric, porcelain, crochet cotton, earthenware, steel, neon, and glass. The 14 versions on view were selected by the Renwick from 80 proposals submitted by artists and craftsmen.
