The exhibition explores the history of the collotype printing process from 1870 to 1960, and its importance in the development of communication technologies.
The collotype printing process utilizes a glass plate with a gelatin surface that carries the image to be reproduced. Approximately 60 European and American early photomechanical and collotype prints, documentary photographs, and artifacts from this graphic arts process are on view.
