Contemporary photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto explores connections between past and present modes of seeing by juxtaposing his photographs with approximately 60 ancient and medieval Japanese artworks—such as ritual burial figures, bronze reliquaries, wood pagodas, and Noh masks—from his collection.
