This IS Hawai'i

The National Museum of the American Indian in collaboration with Transformer, a Washington, D.C., based non-profit visual arts organization, presents a multisite exhibition highlighting some of Hawai‘i’s most dynamic contemporary artists. This IS Hawai‘i features new and experimental works of art that explore what it means to be “Hawaiian” in the 21st century. The work of Maika‘i Tubbs is presented at Transformer and the work of Solomon Enos and Carl Pao is presented at the National Museum of the American Indian’s Sealaska Gallery, with artist Puni Kukahiko’s outdoor sculptures presented at both sites.

This IS Hawai‘i is presented in tandem with the museum’s annual Hawai‘i Festival.
