To commemorate the centenary of his birth, this extensive exhibition examines FDR's personality, accomplishments, and his masterful skill in using the mass media for communication. On view is a recreation of the White House broadcast room used for his "fireside chats." Another area typifies the parlors where families gathered to hear FDR's broadcasts. Other forms of communication fostered during the Roosevelt administration are illustrated by selections of material from the Federal Theater Project and New Deal documentary photography and art.
Also on view is FDR's automobile with hand controls (near Mall information desk).
