On view are the 35 winning entries from the 2005 Smithsonian Staff Photo Contest. The photos were taken by Smithsonian staff, volunteers, fellows, and interns and were submitted at both the professional and amateur levels in 4 categories: People, Places, Objects, and Research. They offer an insightful view of the Smithsonian, its collections, and the varied interests of its staff—both on and off the job.

Judges were Philip Brookman, Senior Curator of Photography and Media Arts at the Corcoran Gallery of Art; William Christenberry, artist; and Charlotte Vazquez, Assistant Director of the Kathleen Ewing Gallery in Washington, D.C.
