In his work, Walden, Henry David Thoreau wrote: "If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer." On view are approximately 80 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by 9 post-World War II, American artists known for idiosyncratic, individualistic approaches to their work: Wallace Berman, Clyde Connell, Bruce Conner, Oyvind Fahlstrom, Robert Helm, Alfred Jensen, Jessm, Luis Jimenez, and Peter Saul.
