The Edwardian necklace features a 2.6 carat oval called the Cullinan Blue Diamond. This diamond was cut from the world's largest diamond of 3,106 carats, which was discovered in the Premier Mine in South Africa in 1905. Sir Thomas Cullinan, founder of the Premier Diamond Mine, commissioned the necklace in the early 1900s as a gift to his wife. Other stones cut from the Cullinan are now in the Crown Jewels.
