The Clockwork Universe: German Clocks and Automata, 1550-1650
November 7, 1980 – February 22, 1981
Displayed in a major exhibition are 120 of the most significant and precious Renaissance clocks, mechanical globes, and automata (including the automaton monk exhibited here in 1978). These were selected from SI collections and American and European lenders to present the golden age of German clock making.
