Challenging the Past: The Paintings of Chang Dai-chien

Explore 87 paintings by Chang Dai-chien (1899-1983), one of the foremost 20th-century Chinese painters, that examine the paradox of Chang's dual role as the last of China's traditional painters and the great innovator who introduced a contemporary aesthetic of abstract expressionism to Chinese painting. A small museum shop is located at the exit of the exhibition.
