Follow nearly 30 photographs illustrating the history of the construction of the Pennsylvania Railroad under the East River and the Hudson River, culminating in the construction of Penn Station in New York City. Also on view are scale models of a tunnel shield used in excavation and a D.D. 1 locomotive—operated electrically (without steam) and specifically designed for use in the tunnel.
