Commemorating the bicentennial of the Treaty of Paris, on view are portraits of the American, British, French, and Spanish "peacemakers" who were involved in the signing of the treaty, which marked the conclusion of the American Revolutionary War. Portraits on display include those of John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, and Henry Laurens, as well as those of George III, King of England, and Charles III, King of Spain. Artists represented include John Singleton Copley, Gilbert Stuart, and Sir Joshua Reynolds. The likenesses are complemented by associated objects, among them the map of North America on which boundaries were drawn.
