This exhibition of 106 contemporary and tradition-based works from private collections and the museum's collection illustrates how artists use size and scale, both literally and metaphorically, to communicate a range of ideas. For contrasting effect, large art works are juxtaposed with miniatures. Objects include a 7-foot-tall Coke bottle covered with tiny beads, a fantasy coffin in the shape of a red chili pepper, a large Egungun masquerade costume, and a chair from the Asante court. Some works have never or seldom been displayed.
