This large exhibition consists of drawings, watercolors, gouaches, acrylics, and oils, and portrays the development of the Space Shuttle since early tests in 1977 to the 1st launch in 1981. For more than 18 years, NASA has commissioned some of the nation's outstanding artists to render their impressions of key events in the space program. This tradition, nearly as old as the space program itself, is the source of the artwork on view in this exhibition.
A selection of the exhibition will be circulated by SITES after closing at NASM.
