The United States Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 to recognize and honor some of the nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors who are selected based on accomplishments in many areas. As one of the co-sponsors, the Portrait Gallery presents the works of the 2008 Presidential Scholars in the fields of cinematic arts, photography, visual arts, and writing.
