This year's annual exhibition by the Office of Horticulture and MAH is a retrospective of theme trees shown during the past 10 years. Featured are 13 spruce and fir trees, ranging from 6 to 12 feet in height, decorated with handcrafted ornaments made by groups and individuals from around the country: 

  • The Trees of Christmas (a one-tree retrospective of the 74 trees previously exhibited) 
  • Enchanted Wonderland 
  • Japanese Origami 
  • Action Santas (Santa figures as football players, doctors, firemen, etc.) 
  • Folk Art Tree 
  • American Embroidery 
  • Germany 
  • Nutcracker Suite 
  • The Twelve Days of Christmas
  • Kansas Golden-Wheat Dollies
  • American Victorian 
  • Crocheted Snowflakes 
  • 1984 White House Christmas Tree (featuring Christmas critters handmade from natural plant materials)

Also on separate display are 70 handcrafted ornaments which decorated the trees in the past decade.
