SI Civil: Training and Guidance

Mandatory Training
- Smithsonian employees and certain affiliated staff, such as academic appointees are required to complete SI Civil: Fostering a Culture of Respect.
- Smithsonian supervisors are required to complete Creating a Culture of Respect, which is a supervisory workshop provided during Fundamentals for Supervisors.
- There are also mandatory EEO courses for new employees and supervisors. For questions, contact SI_EEOTraining@si.edu.

Other Training
Smithsonian management officials may contact SI Civil at any time to request specific training for their unit or office related to:
- SI Civil Program Overview: This training provides an overview of the SI Civil Program, the Anti-Harassment and Workplace Violence Prevention policies, and reporting process.
- Other training opportunities related to the SI Civil Program and related topics are offered, as needed.
- Recorded sessions (Smithsonian network or Prism access required).

SI Civil Handbook
This handbook provides further guidance and Smithsonian-wide procedural requirements under which Smithsonian employees and affiliated persons should report and respond to allegations of harassment, threats, intimidating behavior, or potentially violent situations.
