    Summary

    Draft of Kuniyoshi's response to James Reed, a schoolchild at the Sheldon School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Kuniyoshi discusses how he came to America, the World War II conflict, and his love for the U.S. despite the laws that bar him from citizenship.
    Date based on date of letter from Reed to which Kuniyoshi is responding, and other letters from Sheldon School students received in response to Kuniyoshi's response. This item should be viewed with item 17223.
