Wristwatch, Lindbergh, King Collection

A wristwatch with a brown leather band and the text "Genuine Leather" on the back. The watch face is white with two silver colored hands and a red second hand. Minutes are displayed by dots and the multiples of five on the outside of the face while the hours are displayed by lines and the numbers 12, 3 and 9. Above the center of the face in black lettering are the words "Spirit of Sanit Louis" below is an image of the Spirit of St. Louis in black and white. There is one crown located at 3 o'clock on the frame.

On May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh literally flew into history when he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, thus becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris. This flight made Lindbergh a household name and catapulted him into fame and celebrity.
