    Description

This object is part of the Education and Outreach collection, some of which are in the Q?rius science education center and available to see.

    Notes

A pair of wooden snow goggles made by the Inupiat people of Northern Alaska. The goggles feature a prominent visor-like brim above two narrow slits rather than large holes cut out for the eyes. The wood is dark and smooth from handling and a large portion of the protruding brim is missing. The interior of the goggles is somewhat lighter in color and has two ovals carved out of the wood. A string is tied to each side of the goggles in order to affix them to the face. The visor is labeled with a painted number "2".
